Thiagarajar Mills (P) Limited is one of Tamil Nadu’s most storied spinning houses — a tradition that began in 1936 with the aim of providing the very best for the cotton yarn industry. Headquartered at Kappalur, Madurai, the group operates three spinning mills in India, each dedicated to a distinct count group: fine count combed cotton yarn, hosiery yarn and coarse count combed cotton yarn.

The company manufactures a wide range of ring-spun yarn on conventional and compact spinning machines — single and double yarn in the count range of 16s to 140s — along with 100% cotton open-end yarn on OE-Schlafhorst machines in the 6s to 10s range. The product line covers open-end yarn (Schlafhorst Auto Coro), combed compact yarn (auto coned and spliced), combed weaving single yarn, and TFO-twisted knitters spliced double yarn including high-twist yarn. Special initiatives focus on eliminating naturally occurring contamination for the finest fabrics.

The mills are equipped with world-class machinery including Rieter frames and combers, Trutzschler carding machines, Savio Sirius and Oerlikon autoconers, and Uster testing equipment. Beyond manufacturing, Thiagarajar offers yarn testing services to the industry with published testing charges and online test reports.
