GHCL Textiles Limited, formerly the yarn division of GHCL Limited, was demerged into a separate company under an NCLT order effective 1st April 2023. Originally established in 1927 as Sree Meenakshi Mills and incorporated as a spinning division in 2002, GHCL Textiles has evolved into a leading Tamil Nadu spinner adhering to global quality standards, with two manufacturing units at Paravai (Madurai) and Manaparai (Trichy district).
Products: The division produces open-end 100% cotton yarns, ring spun cotton yarns, TFO yarns, vortex yarns, and synthetic and synthetic-blend ring spun yarns, supplying premium buyers in both domestic and international apparel and home-textile markets such as Raymond, Arvind, Vardhaman, Welspun and Grasim.
Infrastructure: With a capacity of 225,000 ring spindles, 3,320 rotors, 480 vortex positions and 5,760 TFO spindles, the plants are equipped with Rieter (Switzerland), Schlafhorst (Germany), Savio (Italy), Murata (Japan), Trutzschler (Germany), Uster and SSM (Switzerland), and KTTM and LMW (India) machinery. The division holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 (OHSAS) Integrated Management System certifications, and sources premium-grade cotton from Egypt, the US, West Africa, Australia and top Indian cotton belts.
Export: GHCL Textiles exports high-quality cotton and synthetic yarns to international buyers, complemented by its own renewable energy infrastructure including rooftop and ground-mounted solar plants exceeding 60 MW combined capacity, supporting more than 75% of the yarn business’s energy needs from renewable sources.
