The company was commenced by Mr. Thangavelu in 1979 with 880 spindles, later expanded by Mr. Surendren to its current capacity, focusing on the niche product of sewing thread and establishing a strong brand in the market.
Thangavelu Mills manufactures sewing thread from 100% super high tenacity polyester staple fibre, ring spun, auto coned and twisted in TFO, available in a count range of 30’s to 70’s in two-ply and three-ply. The company’s operations span grey, bright optical white, dope dyed, spun, core spun, poly-poly sewing, polyester knitting, embroidery and coats thread varieties.
