SAC Engine Components Pvt. Ltd., formerly known as Southern Auto Castings, has been manufacturing and supplying valve-train internal combustion engine components since 1986. The company is based at T.S. Krishna Nagar, Padi, Chennai, and serves automotive, truck, tractor, marine, power generation, industrial and agricultural applications.

Its product range covers camshafts for single-cylinder up to eight-cylinder engines, balancer shafts for small diesel engines, fuel injection pump (FIP) shafts up to six cylinders and 1.2 metres long, mechanical and hydraulic tappets (mushroom, barrel, split, hollow, bucket and roller types) and valve guides, in materials including chilled grey iron, chilled ductile iron, ductile iron, hardenable grey iron, austempered ductile iron and forged steel.

SAC operates three main divisions: a foundry division for chilled cast iron components, a camshaft, balancer shaft and FIP machining division spread over 25,000 square metres with CNC CBN cam lobe and journal grinders, and a tappet and valve guide machining division with a reported capacity of 14 million tappets a year.
