Chowgule and Company Private Limited is a diversified business group headquartered at Chowgule House, Mormugao Harbour, Goa, with roots going back to 1916 when the late Shri Dattajirao Nathaji Chowgule founded D.N. Chowgule and Sons as a trading company. The group describes itself as a pioneer in many fields in India and has been developing its businesses since.

The core mining business, Chowgule & Co., has more than 70 years of experience in open-cast mine development and operations, and was the first in India to mechanise mining in 1952. Its Mandovi Pellets division, set up in 1979 at Shiroda, Goa, was among the first iron ore pelletization plants in Asia, with a current annual capacity cited at around 1.8 million tonnes, and the group operates shiploading facilities with a loading capacity of about 15,000 tonnes per day.

Beyond mining, the Chowgule Group runs ChowguleSBD, a shipyard building multipurpose vessels, river-sea vessels, ice-class vessels and hybrid diesel-electric vessels mainly for European clients; Chowgule Salt, a supplier of industrial salts from chlor-alkali grade to edible salt and bromine with over four decades of experience; and an Energy and EPC division formed in 2021 serving the upstream offshore oil and gas sector.
