NRKR Textiles, having started operations in 1964 in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, has evolved into a $500 million company with a presence across 4 continents, founded by pioneer cotton ginner Sri NRKR. The founder established and ran the first cotton pressing factory in the state, building a legendary reputation for his generosity toward farmers and quality procurement practices.

The company added its spinning vertical in 1991 by acquiring a mill in Salem, Tamil Nadu, later establishing its own 25,000-spindle mill in Rajahmundry (Unit-1), followed by another unit in Chebrole. Today, NRKR houses more than 500 employees, is in the process of adding 35,000 spindles and 100 airjet looms to its existing capacity of 100,000 spindles, geared up with 100 cotton gins.

NRKR gins and spins using the MCU5 variety of cotton with a staple length of 32mm, considered among the longest available cotton varieties in India. The company’s annual production stands at 14,000 tons of yarn and 55,000 tons of raw cotton, with sustainability practices focused on safe plant operations and supporting sustainable livelihoods in surrounding communities.
