Sri Dhanalakshmi Cotton & Rice Mills Pvt Ltd

Sri Dhanalakshmi Group began in 1974 as Sri Dhanalakshmi Cotton Industries, a ginning and pressing unit in Ganapavaram, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, and has since grown into a diversified manufacturer of cotton textile products, vegetable oil products and power. The company changed its name to Sri Dhanalakshmi Cotton & Rice Mills Pvt Ltd in 1977 upon adding a paraboiled rice division.

The group’s spinning division was established in 1991 with an initial capacity of 25,000 spindles, later expanded to 63,000 spindles by 2004, with an additional 21,600-spindle unit added in 2013. The company also operates a weaving division (started 2006, expanded to 120 looms by 2016 using Tsudakoma, Sulzer and Picanol machines), alongside its Cotton, Cotton Yarn, Cotton Grey Fabric, Cotton Seed De-oiled Cake, Edible Oil, Cotton Linters and Cotton Seed Hulls product lines.

Sri Dhanalakshmi Group has also invested significantly in power generation, including a mini Hydel Power plant (6.2 MVA, 1998) and wind power capacity that grew to over 15 MW combined by 2017, reflecting the group’s integrated approach spanning cotton ginning, spinning, weaving, oil processing and renewable energy.
